Reading Rendezvous (1)

Reading Rendezvous

Reading Rendezvous is a weekly feature created by the Fern Team of the Book Blogger Creativity Project that acts as a travel guide, highlighting places we would like to visit and recommending books that take place there.

I am very excited to be taking part in this project, which is happening over multiple groups who work together to come up with a new type of feature. For this opening post, all the amazing book bloggers on my team will be featuring books that take place in our home state. I’ll have links to their post at the end of this!

I’m originally from Kentucky, so I am featuring a YA romance author who is both from Kentucky and writes her books set in Kentucky. Have any guesses?

It’s Katie McGarry!

Katie McGarryKATIE MCGARRY was a teenager during the age of grunge and boy bands and remembers those years as the best and worst of her life. She is a lover of music, happy endings, and reality television, and is a secret University of Kentucky basketball fan.

I think all of us in Kentucky are UK fans.

Some of her books include:

Pushing the Limits, Dare You To, Crash Into You, Crossing the Line, Take Me On, Nowhere But Here, Breaking the Rules, Red at Night, Chasing Impossible, Walk the Edge

All the books in the Pushing the Limits series take place in Louisville, KY so I’ll be featuring some of my favorite spots there.

There are plenty of fun places to visit in Louisville but a few of my favorites are the Slugger Museum and Factory, Churchill Downs (the home of the famous Kentucky Derby), and the Louisville Mega Cavern which has lots of fun things like zip lining. I love this video that will take through some of these locations and more in the home of Katie McGarry and all her characters:

You can check out all the other amazing people and their featured places too! Make sure to visit Cyra, Nori, Lauren, Karen, Sheridan, Lizzie, Tamara, Ashley, and Shayna to hear about their home places and books set there.

  1. I have never read anything by Katie McGarry yet, but there’s one that I want to read! That Louisville Mega Cavern sounds like a really cool place to visit! Awesome post! Go Team Fern! 🙂
