It’s springtime in Rosewood, but while everyone else is searching for the perfect prom dress, Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Aria are on a different kind of hunt: They’re looking for A…

Hanna puts her campaign for prom queen on the back burner to volunteer at a burn clinic, where one of A’s victims is recovering. Emily digs into Ali’s past at the mental hospital with some very crazy consequences. Spencer contacts an amateur private eye to help her stalk her stalker. But when their sessions get a little too private, they may forget to keep their eyes on A. And Aria’s worried that A is even closer than she thought. When her dark secret from Iceland comes to light, she discovers that maybe, just maybe, the one person she’s been trying to hide the truth from has known all along.

The liars are finally taking the fight to A. But no matter what they do, A’s always one step ahead, ready to crush the girls completely.

029c6-coollogo_com-9181998By the time there are thirteen books in a series, things start to get a little repetitive – which is exactly what happened in this book. However, I do give the girls a little bit of hope for finding out two very important things about A. They only have three more books to do it in…I hope.

At the beginning of the book, they decide to make a huge list of anyone who could possibly be A, but instead of keeping the big picture in mind they focus in on one person – Aria’s boyfriend, Noel. Noel is one of the only reasons I actually still read this series. Aria and Noel are the best relationship in this series and I love reading about them. So I was a little depressed about this. Anyway, all the girls somehow manage to dig up dirt on Noel, so I was like…okay, cool. Maybe Noel could be A. And then the ending happened and I was crying and it was not good. But if there is one good thing about this book, I would say that it’s because the endings are always so climatic and crazy. Seriously, everything happens within the last thirty pages.

Anyway, onto each of the girl’s in their own section:

Emily: Emily has been my least favorite of the girls for a while now…Her chapters are always the most boring for me. She’s still getting over Jordan, which was annoying, but I did like her adventures with Iris. Iris is really crazy and not a good influence on Emily, but she still had a really nice effect on the book. That’s all I got from Emily.

Hanna: Hanna starts working at the burn clinic again and meets a girl named Kyla. They instantly become friends, something that I found really sweet. I liked Hanna and Kyla’s relationship so much! Then the end happened…Hanna also avoided running for prom queen, but Mike helped. Hanna and Mike might be my new favorite PLL couple.

Aria: Is dealing with Noel. All the other three are convinced he’s A and she doesn’t want to believe it. That’s it. She also stole a VAN GOGH PAINTING from a lady’s house in Iceland. Why is there a famous painting just in some lady’s house in Iceland? And why is it not guarded better? And how?

Spencer: Meets a guy named Chace who runs a conspiracy blog, thus providing her with a wealth of information. This was probably my favorite of the plot lines.

My favorite girl of this was Spencer and my least favorite…probably Aria. Her story didn’t make any sense to me with the panting.

Anyway, this book was okay. I’m happy with the little progress they made and the awesome ending. Other than that, I wasn’t too in love with this book. I’ll continue on with this series for Noel and because it’s almost over!
